Fast forward 20-something years and now baby girl already has a few hair clips, 4 months before she enters the world! So obviously I started searching Pinterest for the best hair bow holder solution. There are a ton out there. But the ones I liked best were the open frames with ribbon to hold the bows. There are many out there that have fabric backs, but I thought they distracted from the pretty bows.
This is one of the easiest projects to do! You only need 3 supply items:
- Frame - Because I'm impatient and I wanted all the frames in the room to match anyway, mine is from Hobby Lobby, $20 when they have their frames 50% off. You could easily make this a cheaper project by finding an old frame at the thrift store / yard sale and spray paint white. Since it's winter and the number of yard sales we've been going to is ZERO, I was too impatient to wait for the perfect frame to pop up.
- Ribbon
- Hot Glue Gun.
Cut your ribbon to side, and hot glue to back. I hot glued mine in the ridge of the frame, so that it wouldn't be flat against the wall.
I have to admit after I was done, I didn't feel totally confident with the hot glue holding up - mostly because I see myself grabbing bows on and off in a hurry and tugging on the ribbon. I some teeny tiny nails from a picture hanging kit from Hobby Lobby, and so I nailed them through the ribbon into the frame for extra support. Probably an unnecessary step?
My mom said Ill never fill a frame this big up with bows. I reminded her she's ALREADY bought baby girl three little hairclips...
Now, the only thing left to do is grow baby girls bow collection!
